lyrics

We went into the desert to find a band name
I said “Couldn’t we have done this at home?”
You said “No, man, it takes a desert to find a band name
It takes spelling out words in jackal’s bones”

We were wandering through the desert in search of a band name
But we couldn’t find any jackal’s bones
And I could still see the highway, and that depressed me
I said “I don’t know, fellas, I think we should’ve stayed home”

You said “Take this button, man, and drink this tea
We’ll get a nice fire going to blacken the moon”
I said “I don’t know, man, I’m feeling pretty thirsty
And I’d like to get going, going real soon”

We never found any jackal’s bones to build a band name
So we took apart a tumbleweed, used that instead
And Randy left the fucking peyote in the glovebox, man
So we took apart a cactus fruit, ate that instead

We didn’t get high
We just got kind of sick
So many types of sick, sick in the head
And our search for a band name was already dead
